Character re-design concepts

Kanji and his mother Ukei (her 5 year old form).
Two characters you might not know, due to me removing most art of them due to not wanting the character linked back to me. I don't care now though and it's all restored.

Just some possible re-design ideas..

For Kanji, basic same design except his clothes got shaggier and more fitting to his story/time period. Hair longer initially till he cuts it later. Still working on making him actually look 10 (the age he'll always be, he can't age). Colors will probably stay pretty much the same, brown clothes, maroon eyes, lilac hair.

Ukei... Her five year old form years before she was raped and had Kanji. Still not happy. I tried to make her look younger and more innocent, but she still doesn't come off the pacifist i want her as. ALSO the floor length hair she's always had I also gave Asura who ALSO has a kid form, is annoying me by similarities now despite all the differences between them =/ 

More concepting needed.
