Untitled Poem

Young little girl, sitting by herself.
No one to play, no one to care.
Parents are addicts...
Families not there...
What does one do, when a friend is rare?

Years pass...
Problems arise...
Day to day the little girl cries.
Fears inside her.
Insults surround.
What more can you do?
When there's teasing around...

School is a joke
Home life insane.
The girl left alone...
Herself to entertain..

Made up songs...
And make belief..
Worlds of her own..
Where there is no grief...

But fiction it is.
And fiction it will always be.
The girl must someday grow up..
She must face reality...

More years pass..
And school has been hell.
Behavior problems..
And all family does is yell...
They do not see where the problem lies...
They do not know, how hard that she tries.

Called stupid all her life, and pushed around.
No friends to speak of...
She can only stand her ground.

Attention she seeks,
but knows not how to get it.
Lost in her confusion,
through her actions, she must take it.

Now she's a teen...
Been on every med...
Told she'll never succeed..
That she's fucked up in the head...

Fears destroy her.
Her behavior is only worse.
What did she do to deserve this curse?

Family cares not.
The schools only suspend.
No one understands.
When really all, she needed was a friend.

But missing the point is all they can do...
To yell, to punish, to blame it on you.
To take you down, till there's nothing left.
But bitterness, and anger, your life bereft

Forced to grow up...
But still stuck in her ways..
Living her worthless life till the end of days...

Friends have been gained, but it is too late.
The years have been bitter...
And now all that remains is hate.

That is what happened, to the little girl who tried so hard.
In the end, she could only become emotionally scarred.
